Thank you Paul for confirming a lot of my own research on this. I recently tried to reach out to the up and coming orthodox convert, Paul Kingsnorth, because I had some issues with his related views but think I failed to get through somehow. Perhaps you as an apologetics author could check it out and tell me if I'm perhaps wrong or just being difficult. You can find Paul's post here on substack by searching for "Christian Civilization" guess that will show up. Keep up the good work Paul, it's a pity that so few Christians fully understand or support the kind of work you do to help us appreciate our roots. Don't give up, it's important stuff.
BTW you read this?
I think you might like this book – "The Book that Made Your World: How the Bible Created the Soul of Western Civilization" by Vishal Mangalwadi.
This is great. I did want to bring up how abolitionist movements happened throughout the church even in the bible like Philemon.
"After 313, when Constantine legalized Christianity within the Roman Empire, Church teachings concerning charity and justice began influencing Roman laws and policies. Pope Callixtus I (bishop of Rome 218–222) was a slave in his youth.[3] Slavery decreased with multiple abolition movements in the late 5th century."

That and clergy and popes condemned slavery throughout history. Some say unjust slavery but just slavery is like being imprisoned.
