This is exactly why I am reading the NT book of Matthew in small bites, responding in small chunks of writing (for future publication). More time for mulling and processing...and hopefully remembering and applying.
Good article! I would answer - both. Put the phone down, close the computer, turn off the TV, and pick up great literature - the best being the Bible. Read more of the best writing and read with a desire to understand the purpose of the author more deeply. We have limited time on earth, so it's important that we use that time well.

I think that's the best reading strategy, especially for Scripture. It's great to take time to meditate on what you're reading.
